House Mackenzie |
The house will be built in Briare a commune in the Loiret department in north-central France (2.30h from Paris). The exterior’s reduced and stern architecture lends it´s appearance from the simple barn-like architecture traditional in the farming countryside. The house will be only 6 metres wide and 22 metres long with a pitched roof parallel to the long straight driveway approach. The interior will be modern and white. Warmth will be added with wooden screens and ceilings. The south side consists of large panoramic windows towards the landscape and la Loire. The house will have full amenities including kitchen, bathroom, three bedrooms. Ecological and rational concerns have been important when choosing materials and construction methods – the house will be very energy efficient and will be built with sustainable and natural materials. The construction consists of a wooden framework and prefabricated wall- and roof elements. |
